Using the broadfork aligns perfectly with our philosophy. The soil is only loosened and aerated rather than turned over, minimizing disturbance to the active soil life. As you work, compost on the surface is drawn about a hand’s depth into the soil.
This mobile broadfork with a crumbler ensures that lifted soil clumps are immediately broken up. This is a major advantage in sandy-loam soil. The crumbler is mounted in a mobile way and does not interfere with the broadforking process itself. It is best to clear the plot of weeds beforehand—this makes working with the broadfork easier and more efficient.
Attention
No broadfork can be used in heavy loam or clay soil. This broadfork is also not designed for digging out tree stumps or concrete posts.
Advantages over the fixed ergonomic broadfork
- The mobile crumbler provides significant benefits in sandy-loam soil.
- The "twisting" phase required with a standard fixed broadfork is not needed, making it a great option for those with less physical strength.
