Ladybugs in the Classroom
At Rootsum, we believe in the power of small steps to bring about big changes. That’s why we’re committed to biodiversity by donating 1% of our revenue to projects that have a direct impact. One of these projects is particularly close to our hearts: distributing 200 educational school kits for breeding ladybugs!
About the Project
Ladybugs are true heroes of biodiversity! They help naturally control aphids and are a wonderful example of how nature stays in balance. With our school kit, children get a unique opportunity to observe these helpful insects up close and learn about their crucial role in the ecosystem.
What’s in the Kit?
The school kit contains everything needed to start a ladybug breeding project, including:
- A habitat for ladybug larvae
- Enough food to raise the larvae
- A guide filled with interesting facts and instructions for use
- A workbook about ladybugs with games, stories, drawings, etc.
With this kit, children can not only learn about nature but also contribute to biodiversity in their own school environment!
Schools: Register quickly!
We are giving away 200 school kits worth €25 each to the first 200 schools that register. There is a limit of one kit per school, and the breeding kits will be shipped in May 2026 to schools in Belgium, the Netherlands and France. Don’t wait too long – the number of kits are limited!

What’s the cost of the project?
The total project value is €5,600:
- €4,000 for the ladybug breeding kit
- €1,600 for shipping and logistics. The ladybug kits will be shipped to 200 different schools.
