Do you regularly struggle with spider mites on your houseplants? Or do they return every year in your greenhouse, for example on cucumbers, peppers or aubergines? Fruit trees (fruit spider mites) and ornamental shrubs can also be sensitive.

Protect your plants naturally with Forni-care breeding sachets. This way, spider mites won’t get a chance to turn into a serious infestation.

Forni-care: Breeding sachets against spider mites (formerly Soni-mite)

Forni-care contains breeding sachets with Neoseiulus californicus predatory mites. Over a period of five weeks, each sachet produces around 1,000 predatory mites. Each sachet has a pre-punched hole through which the mites emerge gradually, giving you five weeks of continuous protection.

The most common spider mite is the two-spotted spider mite (greenhouse spider mite), but Forni-care also targets other species such as fruit spider mite, strawberry mite, citrus mite and begonia mite.

    When to use Forni-care

    • Preventive use – protect your plants before spider mites appear.
    • Can also be used curatively, but only at the early stage of an infestation.
    • Suitable for indoor, greenhouse, and outdoor use.
    • Effective against two-spotted spider mite, citrus mite, begonia mite and cyclamen mite on houseplants.
    • Can control two-spotted spider mites on vegetables such as aubergines, cucumbers, peppers, beans and melons.
    • Can be used on strawberries, grapes and fruit trees to control fruit spider mite, two-spotted spider mite and strawberry mite.
    • Works well on ornamental plants.
    • Effective under fluctuating temperatures and low humidity.

    How to use Forni-care

The sachets come with a small hook, making them easy to hang on plants.

    • Preventive use: hang 1 sachet per m² or 1 sachet every 2.5 linear metres for low-growing plants. For tall plants, use a double dose. If plants are not touching, hang 1 sachet per plant.
    • If you have multiple plants with gaps in between: stretch a light net over the plants and hang sachets throughout. Predatory mites can travel from plant to plant via the net.
    • Replace sachets after 5 weeks if you want to maintain protection.

    Advantages of Forni-care

    • Easy to hang using the built-in hook.
    • Suitable for indoor and outdoor use against spider mites.
    • Five weeks of continuous predatory mite activity.
    • A large number of mites for a very affordable price.
    • Tolerates high temperatures; humidity plays a minor role.

    Combining with other predatory mites

If a spider mite hotspot develops despite using Forni-care, apply Forni-mite or Phyto-mite using a shaker tube.

Breeding sachets against spider mites can be combined with Cucu-care sachets against thrips. The different species of predatory mites do not interfere with each other on the plants.

    Can I store Forni-care?

No. The sachets are pre-punched, which means mites start to emerge a few days after production. Hang them as soon as possible after receiving them. They remain active for five weeks, so a few extra days in transit is not a problem. We always ship fresh material.
